Topic tags/keywords: miter saw

Did not see much around here about the orange box power tool sale. Did any of you guys take advantage of the sales?

I picked up the 12” Ridgid sliding miter saw. I had been eyeing this tool for quite some time, but could not justify the $549 price tag when I already have a 12” (non-sliding) miter saw.

I wanted this for my bday in August, but the wifey would not go along with the plan. I agreed that the price was a little steep just to get a new toy and I would wait for a sale. So after a few money gifts from family I bought the Ridgid 3 1/2” framing nail gun and the Ridgid table top ocslating belt / spendle sander for my bday. Both are great tools, plus I had been wanting the sander for about a year or so.

Well I did not expect the “sale” to come around so fast, but that is how the ball bounces. If you spent over $500 you got $75 off, but if you spent $600 you got $150 off or something like that. With the saw being $549 I was only $51 away from a much better discount, so I picked up a Ryobi 18v hammer drill which I “needed” anyway. The math in my head worked out as the hammer drill free and about a hundred off the miter saw :). Total out the door with tax (8.25%) was $506, I got the third and fourth new toy of the month along with a bigger smile then “smiling bob” on the enzyite commericals, plus a happy lady back at the club house!
