Made this stubby marking knife yesterday as a fathers day gift:

Not quite fancy enough for a project post, but wanted to show it off anyhow. I meant to make the handle bigger but a few lathe screw-ups prevented that, so now it’s a “fine detail” knife. I used a brazilian rosewood pen blank for the handle, a brass compression nut filed round for the ferrule, and an SM-01 blade. Finished with shellac and renaissance wax, though I didn’t get a good photo of the shininess.

Well that’s real stubby… I mean nice!! I think it makes a fine project to post.

It actually fits into the palm of your hand pretty well, hopefully it will be nice for small work. I’ve dubbed it the stubby stabber.
