I recently messaged Steve to offer some encouragement and prayers for his ongoing battle with liver cancer. His wife Judy responded that Steve has passed away and asked that I help her with a posting so that other Lumberjock members would know. Here is her response:

”Hello, this is Steve Kreins wife, Judy. Steve passed away on May 29th. He talked about his friends on lumberjacks all the time and how much you meant to him. I thank you for your your prayers and the guidance yall gave him. I don’t know how to post all this to your site. I am on FB and my email is if anyone needs to contact me. A Celebration of Life service will be held June 27 at 2 pm Oak Crest Funeral home. But, please no flowers. We have nowhere to put them. No graveside services will be held since he was cremated. God bless you….Judy Kreins”

Steve was an amazing inspiration to us all. His determination, unwavering faith and humility were qualities that attracted many to come to know him and his living testimony. When Steve was diagnosed, he took up woodworking with a huge passion and poured himself into the hobby as his “therapy.” On days he could not put tool to wood, he would at least try to imagine or design his next project or sharpen his learning. I will miss him.

God Bless,

This is truly sad news, I kept in touch with him since I found out he had liver cancer and tried to encourage him to stay positive, he was a man of few words but I could certainly detect sadness in his last communication.
May he rest in peace.

I missed this when it was posted. Sad and happy news. Sad for us that are left behind. Happy for Steve to be with his Savior. Prayers for his family and friends.
