Mot, it does my heart good to see you and your son in the shop. Also, the fact that you have taught him to wear his safety gear, but a full face sheild to sweep the shop might be a little much. LOL. It looks like he is doing a great job keeping your shop clean. It is quite an interesting show the two of you are putting on. Thanks for the peek into your shop and world. What is he building? I see you just gave him what looks like a small square.

Hey Os!

He’s building a tower. I asked him if was straight and he said, “I don’t know.” I asked him if he wanted to check and gave him the small square. Nice pick up. LOL! We’re just cleaning up as an old shop teacher of mine is coming by to spend some time in my shop. I’m also working on removing part of the wall to make an embedded cabinet for the shop computer.

Cheers!

Hi Mot;

I need to know how you are doing this! That way I can check the video later, and make sure I was really working!

Seriously,I would love to know how your doing this, and what kid of camera are you using?

I too am pleased to see you have your son working with you. That alone is reason enough to take up woodworking!

Lee, I’m going to blog the entire process as soon as I get the shop computer situated.

Tom, he’s a keeper. His sister is pretty good too. She wants to play with the lathe and has to do her homework first.

Cheers!

Mason-Dixon woodworking meeting tonight. All big people sitting around and remembering. I had a show and tell of my Summer contest winner.

Let us know before hand if you can about your next entry into the online LJ-Tube.

It was an impromptu broadcast guys. I haven’t really thought of a good way of notifying that the shop cam is on. I suppose the forums are probably best. Any ideas?

We can give you our phone number and you can call us all.

Or maybe Martin can design a computer alarm that will go off when ever one of us sends it the siginal.

Tom;

Judging by your picture, your getting a big head from all this attention! LOL

I’m looking forward to this blog, as in some areas, I’m a big dummy.

I would appreciate if my fellow lj’s DON’T vouch for me in that previous statement! Their always so willing to back me up! LOL

You asked him if he was straight? What an AWFUL question to ask your son. 8^) Plumb or square mighrt have been a better question…

Tom I noticed above you asked about a notification method. Has anybody come up with a good notification method yet?? I’d love to know when the next broadcast is going to be? If there is an e-mail list I’d like to know where I would sign up.

Hi Neil,

Nothing yet. Debbie suggested a fixed time, but that’s really hard for me to do. There has been a suggestion made about being able to subscribe to certain posts. That was, an email notification is sent each time someone responds. This would happen not only to the person that started the thread, but also anyone that replied. I think that might create alot of mail though.

I’m not sure what to do. The broadcasts are just me mulling around in the shop, cutting and pounding on things. They’re not really much of anything, so I guess you’re not missing anything! LOL. The best I can do right now is drop you a private message when I’m going online.

Tom

private messages seems like a lot of work when you could be making sawdust instead…
perhaps if we knew the “typical” times that you are in the shop we can keep our eyes open at those times.

For me, I think you usually do this after I turn off the computer for the evening but if you are usually on here at 7:30 then I could pop by to check ….

Yeah, Debbie…it’s hard as I don’t keep schedules like that. I’ve thought about it, but I get into the shop when I can get there…usually with little warning and undetermined duration. I don’t know what would be optimum.
