I’m trying to get the model # from the seller, but I wanted to check here to see if this is something I should just jump on… It’s a 10” Craftsman Radial Arm Saw for $75. Here is a picture, it’s all the info I have at the moment.

I also have an opportunity to buy this saw (Craftsman 113.298761) for $250. I think the fence alone is worth that, thoughts?

Here is the text of the ad “Highly tuned and improved cast iron 10 inch saw. The improved features include Delta BIESEMEYER fence, cast iron hand wheels, folding out-feed table with router cutout, movable base, and fully enclosed cabinet with dust port. Table is fitted with zero clearance polymer insert, Freud thin kerf Diablo combination blade, and Micro-jig splitter. The motor pulley upgraded and fitted with power twist v-belt for smooth operation. This saw is completely aligned and ready to plug into standard outlet and use.”

I wouldn’t be in a big hurry to jump on that RAS (no opinion on the TS). I can’t exactly see in the photo, but I think that’s the model that had a clam shell aluminum base, as opposed to the more solid cast iron base. Normallly, I would suggest you buy it and send the motor in for the $100 recall, but that website (for the recall) has been down for over 2 weeks and I fear the recall may have ended. Regardless, those saws show up regularly and if you feel you want one try to get it for $50 or less.

I was going to suggest the same. Recall is still going AFAIK…
Website is here: http://rasrecall.com/

Yes on the table saw, I have one with the Delta T2 fence like that one. Well worth the $250. I just ordered a sawstop and if my Daughter doesnt want my Cman I will probably list it for about $350. The RAS not so much. I just sold a 12” Cman got $50 out of it at auction.

I forgot how much the recall rebate was the on the craftsman.. I thin $100. You can make $25 on it if the rebate is that much.

Thanks Brad. They must have changed their website address, the one I had been using was radialarmsawrecall.com…but it had been giving me a “site not found” message the past 2 weeks or so.

Technically it’s against federal law for that radial arm saw to be resold because of the recall.

Quote from CPSC .. “Federal law bars any person from selling products subject to a publicly-announced voluntary recall by a manufacturer or a mandatory recall ordered by the Commission.”

I am one of the few who like my radial arm saw and I use it a lot for cross cutting long wide pieces as well as narrow pieces. If it is too wide I flip it over and cut from the other side of the piece. Many don’t like these and they can cut your arm off it you don’t obey the rules and you cross your arms when cutting. NEVER DO THAT!!

I have thought about the recall but they replaced the guard a few years ago and I am very aware (especially with this saw) that they say they are dangerous. I would not sell mine for $150.00 but that is my opinion. Mine has the battery digital readout (I don’t often use that but it is nice to have) and I have the plastic and steel cabinet base. . larry
P.S. I don’t have a sliding miter saw just a 12” Delta regular.

1. that RAS is not eligible for the $100 recall. not even sure if a blade refit and new table are provided. and it’s one of the RASs that gave craftsman a bad reputation in RASs

2. that TS, if its a 113, is, with that t2, a forever saw, fully capable of whatever you want to do in a hobbyists shop. i have two of them adn kept them over a unisaw i refurbished.

Why do you say it’s not eligible? It doesn’t have the full blade guard. It looks just like the one I have and I got the new table and full blade guard under the recall. As far as I know the new table and guard are no longer available and all you can get is the $100.

it was a 113.. sadly he sold it before I could get to him! I really liked the outfeed table. Instead, I ordered a T2 from ToolsPlus to upgrade my Craftsman 22114 saw. Thanks for all the replies!

Sadly, Craftsman radial arm saws are not worth much. If you do want one, the older Delta and DeWalts (cast iron arms) can be had for less that $50. They pop up on CL all the time. They are much better.

right you are. but i don’t see any mention of the retro fit guard kit the OPs saw used to qualify for. that kit even included a new table. looks likke all tht’s being provided now is the $100.
