I just googled “burl” ,as I was not sure what it was, and this was one of the sites that came up.

I have yet to get out there (I think it would be too painful to see and not afford) but what beautiful stuff these folks have.

Interestingly, here is my current project (a coffee table):

A redwood slab, wet with water to inspect the grain. Haven’t decided what type of legs to give it yet.
