I keep watching the Lowe’s website for any sales on the Delta 36-725 13 amp table saw. No luck. Now I noticed the price went from $549 to $597.

I think the $549 was a recent drop from earlier this year. Before buying mine in early Apr I recall seeing it for $599 or so.

They are probably jacking it up in anticipation of putting it on ‘sale’ for the same price for father’s day.

I don’t know what their doing but that saw is a steal at either price. I’ve owned one for a few months and I’m well satisfied with it. Finally bought something that works as its supposed to.

Recently bought one myself and love it – you can also get 3 discounts to lower the price:

5% if you get their CC
10% if you’re military – active or retired
10% coupons – all over the web – if you can’t find one, just ask the cashier – they’ll usually just do a courtesy 10%

these discounts all stack :)

That’s because the 36-725’s have been discontinued and replaced with the 36-5000 series with prices starting at 899.

I thought the 36-725 was going to remain a Lowe’s product and the other 36-5xxx series sold through other channels.

Yup, I’ve seen Amazon do stuff like this too. Raise the price, then put it on “sale” and announce an awesome sale. Ridiculous!

I did the customer contact on the Delta website, I got a response within 2 hrs. Here is the email I received (posted with their permission)

Hi Bill-

The rumor you report is new to me and, as rumors go, a pretty mild one. In the digital world of social media it takes only one pissed-off individual’s embellished tale of injustice suffered to create a virtual storm of rumor & innuendo with little factual basis. The 36-725 table saw is NOT being discontinued by Lowes or Delta. This table saw has been in Lowes stores nationwide for 1-1/2 years now and has been a tremendous success. Stores not having product is more an internal Lowes issue of balancing on hand inventory levels versus sales volume and the regional distribution center inventory safety stock, etc. I’m not aware of any manufacturing or supply issues on the Delta side of things.

Part availability has not been an issue in general, although, like any product, there have been few items that have had a higher than anticipated demand. There are essentially 5 variants of this same saw on the market and we’re able to substitute certain parts easily between models when we become aware of a service parts availability problem. Being made aware there is an issue is generally more a problem than the issue itself. I’m pretty confident I can supply the part(s) necessary to repair the saw or replace a component found to be missing or damaged in the box.

I’m guessing you’re considering the purchase of a 36-725 and are concerned about not only saw’s future but after sales support by Delta. I appreciate your concern and wish more folks would write us about what they’ve heard or in regards to Delta products, after sales support, or the company, Delta, in general. Since it’s purchase from Stanley, Black & Decker in 2011 we’ve been steadily working at rebuilding what little remained of the company into a firm more representative of its rich heritage & reputation. A lot of work remains.

Shown below is my contact information. Please do not hesitate contacting me directly (email is best) in the future whenever you feel I may be of assistance to you. If you decide to purchase the Delta 36-725 or other Delta table saw, you’ll be rewarded with many years of reliable service.

Very best regards,

Bob Chalfant

When I requested permission to post his response,

Sure Bill, go ahead and post my response if you’d like. Discontinuing the 36-725 because of the 5000 series saws introduction is a logical conclusion. However, the 5000 series saws are available from Lowes via special order and the 36-725, with its attractive price point, is exclusive to Lowes, so I don’t see Lowes giving up the 36-725 anytime soon.

Ah, I stand corrected.
I wonder why the 36-725 does not appear in their lineup on their website?

When searching the web for Delta 36-725 you will find a link to the Delta page for the saw. But in the Delta site I can not find the 36-725 either. I suspect it is because its a Lowe’s exclusive, and not a common Delta product.

There it is!! Thanks. I guess a search with in their site finds it. They just do not seem to list it in their product drop downs.
