Hey all!

Any ideas on what the treatment might have been on this oak desk?

Also, is this oak quarter sawn? Or something else?

I’ve never been huge on oak furniture — I never really like the big open pores and the tendency towards that orange-y finish. But I absolutely love the finish here.

Any thoughts?

aha! looks indeed to be quarter sawn white oak — from my googling at least. That’s half of the puzzle!

It is quarter sawn, and it looks to me to be English brown oak finished natural.
