I was happy to donate 1500 board feet of assorted project wood to our local high school this week. I also cut and donated materials for a class of 40 kids in a gateway program class held in Fallbrook yesterday. They are building some kind of table lamps .

Great work hun. It always makes you feel good to help the community. I volunteer in the emergency services and it is always a buzz helping someone out.

It feels better to give than to receive.
You did something good we don’t see that everyday.

Thanks Belinda ! I have always tried to be involved in past business politically or economically as it is a tremendous self growth tool as well as hopefully helping some one. And besides out there some where is a protege that needs mentoring .Belinda , you keep at it too – thanks for the response .

That’s amazing, Rob! Equivalent to 190 full 1×12s, all 8’ long is a heck of a lot of lumber. I have to convert it to something I know, because BFs still don’t relate to anything visual for me. Great job helping out the next generation.

Rob, this is wonderful to hear. Support like this is hard to come by for schools which are operating on a shoestring budget at best. I am sure that you could have sold these boards and put some cash into your pocket but donating them to these worthy causes is priceless.

Good work, without the next and the next generation, the craft is gone. Keep up the good work. It does feel good to help! BTKS

no kidding about the struggling shop programs. I have heard it directly from Admin that i have to cut costs as much as I can in my shop classes. I have kids selling entertainment coupon books and the money goes directly to their shop account, so the harder they work the more they get credited.

Can my classes get the next batch????? I would even bring the truck and trailer. Probably not doable, but thanks for helping out one of the programs that are still going.

Last year we went through approximately 3000-4000bf combined of oak, poplar, and cedar. This year the classes are larger, so looking at closer to 5000bf for the year. 1500 if our first quarter lumber order. At least enrollment is up, that means job security and not having to do lunch duty :)
