Folks,
I need to replace my DeWalt sander and I want to buy a Festool sander. Rotex vs. ETS vs. DTS vs. RTS. Too many from which to select!! I am leaning toward a RO 90 except I’m concerned it is too small in diameter for larger flat surfaces. I am open to the idea of having 2 but which 2? Any input would be greatly appreciated. FYI I’ll be sanding bare wood typically no wider than !5” and up to 6 feet long.

You might check the FOG, Festool Owners Forum at www.festoolownersgroup.com There have been discussions on the various sanders there, and owners and users will be able to chime in with their thoughts and experiences as well.

Do you have a dust extractor / vacuum to hook the sander to?

Hmmm. I see you already did post over there!!

Seeing you already know what you’re going to be sanding I’d keep the consumables down
so you don’t have to purchase extras.

So, a 5” pad would be the Rotex 125, and the ETS150/5 and you could complete any sanding
tasks that come your way.

The abrasives last a long time so don’t stock up on boxes because they’re just going to sit there
a while.

Uncle Bob can hook you up and he’s one of the best of the best.

Dow….wise choice on the ct26

I have four festool sanders and the ets 125 is my most used

When I pull out the ro tex it is for occasions that formally required a belt sander …wouldn’t say it has replaced the belt sander but I rarely use it now

The dts is a nice sander but does not get used too much

Each model has its own niche…. Buuut if I could only have one it would likely be the ets 150/5

Enjoy the journey ! JB
