OK guys – you don’t hear much from me because I am swamped with work. This takes me away from blogging and from sharing with woodworkers.
So one of the things that it detrimentally impacted is my schedule to build a Shaker Bench for Charity. To compound my schedule dilemma I thought the auction was Saturday night and turns out it is Friday night.
This morning I throw a Tweet out there asking where are all the woodworkers that want to help me just for free, just for the experience when I really need to get a project done. I get a joking response back from Brian Havens “if you can convince my wife…” This led to me daring him to give me his wife’s phone number. Well, she got a call from me and now he has a flight booked and joins me in Billings tonight!
It will be a total woodworking marathon with the two of us to build one of my Shaker Benches for the charity auction on Friday night. Brian will also be attending the dinner and auction event with me and my wife, Rita.
We haven’t figured everything out yet, but we plan on sharing the action with updates and trying to get video and pictures for release later too.
I am always jealous because I see so many LJ’s get to meet up. Now, I am getting to do a marathon woodworking session with an LJ member that will create a project to benefit people in with developmental disabilities in my community.
I have to go now, there is a lot to get ready and I am still working on another project too. But stay tuned for the woodworking marathon from the American Craftsman Workshop!

Good for you to donate your time and materials for charity. I have got to start doing that and this may push me to do something about it! Thanks for posting and enjoy your time with a fellow LJ. Hope it is productive as well as a learning experience for both of you!
