Andy Chidwick is another furniture maker that I know and recently he stopped by my shop on his way to The Woodworking Shows. He is giving demonstrations and seminars on creating sculpted furniture.

Although the time was much too short, Andy & I had a great visit. We even had time to get in a little video together for him to share what he would be doing at the show. You can see the entry & video interview here.

We also traded shirts & hats that we each have to offer. Occasionally he sends me a picture of my hat at some well-known location like Graceland.

Today he sent a picture of my American Craftsman Workshop hat with someone we all know -Tommy MacDonald! I just thought that was very cool:)

If you get a chance, be sure to make it to The WoodWorking Shows. You will meet great guys in person like Andy Chidwick and Chuck Bender. They are truly generous individuals sharing the knowledge of woodworking.

Also be sure to check and see if Tommy MacDonald’s new RoughCut Woodworking show is playing on your local PBS station.

They have the spirit of true American Craftsmen.

Todd: I’m sorry I forgot about Andy being at the show. I met Chuck Bender and he took me over to Tommy’s booth and while I was standing there talking to Tommy I got a slap on the sholder and it was Charles Neil. Charles was there as a paying member and not a presentor. I had my picture taken with the 4 of us. The picture is on Charles camers so we have to see what he does with it.

I also met Spalm at Chuck’s booth.

I had a great time and spent less that $100.00

Todd,

I realized that I forgot to post a photo of me and the one I won from the summer contest, so to remedy that…

Todd: Although I have never met any of these guys at a woodworking show, I have met a lot of people that were glad to share their knowledge and I feel I gained a lot from it. You are right, go to the shows and talk to people, you will be glad you did.

Can hardly wait for the Indy show. I always go to at least two of the three days. Karson how do you get by with only spending $100.00?

I just found out that Tommy’s show plays on PBS Create locally in Montana when I posted that link. I look forward to seeing his show.

I will play it in the shop while I do my own woodworking. Would that cause some sort of overdose?

I have been accused of being obsessed with woodworking…and work in general.

I did not know that there was such a show, we don’t have cable.

I think the people that other say people are obsessed with woodworking are just jealous because you spend so much time in your shop and there stuck behind a desk all day and get out to the shop 1 time a month.
