A Gaggle of LJ’s
I just got onto LJ tonight and found out that Scott Shangrilaw is going to the Western Design Conference, in addition to Dennis Mitchell and myself. I am pretty excited about this. It is exciting enough to get into the show, but to be in a premier venue with 2 other LJ brothers really kicks it.
Are there any other LJ’s that will be going to see the show in Jackson, WY? It is Sept 6, 7 & 8. I would love to meet more LJ’s in person.

Praying for your success, and Dennis’, and now Scott’s.

The Western Design Conference is a juried venue for artists, designers, furniture makers, leather workers, and the like that work primarily in a “western” style or theme. The works do not have to be strictly in the western style or rustic, they also accept clean modern interpretations of the western vernacular and asian styles too. They have seemed to be getting a little on the modern side for the last couple of years.
I have attended for the last 5 years as a spectator and have been attending the lectures. I have found them very interesting as well as genuinely educational.
The show has been held in Cody, WY for the past several years but had a location change since it sold and has new ownership. I think the Jackson venue will help really. I did enjoy only being 120 miles from it since I live in Billings, MT.
Yes, I am a juried artist and will be showing a piece. I have to build a piece for the show. This year I thought that I would throw my hat in the ring just to see what would happen next.

Mot,
I had thought about doing something like that. I just am not savvy enough yet to casually whip that stuff out into the blog. I still can’t get pictures into the blog, and to think that I have to set up a website really quick here (crap).
Mailing video would almost be pointless because people want a real time feal for it, like that night at the latest.

Yeah, been there done that. Another 2 hours of my life I will never get back. You can see some shop photos I posted there that I could never get into the blog. Every time I try, I burn at least 1 1/2 hrs and I can’t get it to go. I can figure a lot of things out but this is not happening for me.
You’re Just a Dog, how do you do all this stuff?

Neil, (Furnitologist)
I just went over to your website, you do some pretty nice work. I love your business name and logo, that is great. I have seen your video in the Rockler store and I think the Woodsmith store. That is really neat.

If your using IE, go to the web page (flickr for example) and right click the picture you want to add to your blog/post and select properties. There is a url listed for the photo and you highlight it and copy it. Then you go to the place you want it in your blog and click the image link.
Paste the url into the dialog box, then click ok, Enter a description and then click ok again. If you want to send the user to a url if they click the picture you add another url, otherwise just click ok. This will actually work with any image on the web.

That did not work with your photo, I will try again. Are you doing this really or is your owner doing it?
