Well, I am trying a live stream from the shop again.
I am not sure what happens, but my wireless seems to drop off every now and then and I am not that far from the house. I should see about getting the wireless router up off of the floor and set it up high for better reception.
I am packing up the Shaker Bench for shipping right now. This is a light project in the shop and if you have questions I will try to answer them.
Here is the bench I just finished-

Just got the notifier on email. You must not be union or are you on overtime ?? :-)) Sorry, you’re on your own now, I don’t have time to stay and watch you pack, but the video seems to be working OK. Don’t forget to use a Teamster Proof Box!!

Todd,
Try placing the router at a window, if you have one that faces the shop/house. Also some routers can have their power boosted by downloading a newer version of the firmware.

Your “live stream” is working good…I can’t give you much technical help as here we still use two tin cans and a long string!

Thanks for noticing Todd…the table saw work station has been a great improvement. Its much easier to handle long panels and, of course, gives me another surface to pile “stuff” on. By the way, real name is
George Barry. Are you making a wooden shipping box?

I forgot to mention, I’m generally not a huge fan of shaker furniture but your bench looks terrific. I love the choice of wood and the design and would not hesitate to have one in my house.

right now i am building a 12×16 barn shed next to my house so all my woodworking has ground to a halt. Then after i move all the stuff from the garage to the shed i can start turning the gargae into a proper woodshop! starting with a brand new grizzley cabinet saw!

I just realized, yours is the second LJ shop I was able to visit today. I had the good fortune of meeting MedicKen this morning when I bought his Grizzly jointer. I loved his shop and yours as well. Appreciate you taking the time to share it with us.

He lives 4hrs North of me, so I was on the road for 8 hrs today, but it was worth the jointer and opportunity to meet Ken, a great guy. I can’t wait until he finishes rehabbing his other old tools, they are going to look great.

Hey Brad – A staple will hold even after the wood rots away. The exterior trim on my current home was installed with staples. In a couple of places the wood has rotted away (another project) but the naked staples are still there and holding air :>)

Todd, I’ve seen you put the frame of the crate on the outside. Is there any practical reason to do so? I’d have the tendency to leave the outside the smoothest possible to avoid it catching up on somewhere and ripping a frame part off.
