« Part 1: A cupboard for the office - printer stand and supply storage Part 2 of Office printer cupboard series Part 3: Dang. Ruined that set of dovetails good and proper. »

The top and sides were glued up and trimmed a couple of days ago and today I was able to cut the dados and sliding dovetail slots. Of course, I screwed up one of the (supposedly stopped) dados and will need to insert a little block for the, err, stop. I had almost forgotten how much mess routing a dado can make.

I made the drawers to a variation of the intended design after discovering that even the slightest deviation between the holes for the shelving wires and the actual wires was enough to split the Fir sides. Second version use some Baltic ply and leaves out the large dado so that the slides will attach to the face of the side. It will cost a fraction of an inch of space in the drawer which doesn’t really worry me. I’ll update the drawings at some point.
