48hrblog

In case you weren’t aware, I was recently invited to join in a very fun challenge over at Better Home's and Gardens and I was more than happy to accept. In BHG.com’s words, “We asked five of our favorite home and garden bloggers to create clever weekend projects for outdoor living, using $500 in materials from The Home Depot.” How awesome is that? So throughout the month of April, we’ll be blogging about the entire process over at BHG.com. And of course you can expect some posts here as well. Once all the projects are completed, viewers can vote for their favorite and the winner will receive a $5000 bonus prize!

judgingAnd here is the final product of my effort: The Ultimate Grilling Station. Not the typical project you would see here at The Wood Whisperer, but fun nonetheless. And just about anyone can make one with a basic set of tools and a modest budget.

So now the voting begins. Head over to BHG.com and click the green “Register to Vote” button. The registration process is pretty typical but it does ask for your email address. Now all you have to do is look at all the challengers’ projects and vote for your favorite, which hopefully will be my BBQ cart. Although I must say the other projects look fantastic!

Once registered, you should stay logged in and you’ll be able to easily vote every day. The voting is open until June 12th. So I will keep a sticky post at the top of my site just to remind folks about the voting as well as provide a handy link. Thanks guys and I really appreciate your votes!

Did it still ask for your mailing address? I am hoping they take that out of the process.

I voted, Marc. It still asks for an e-mail address but I am a member of the site.

What…Powermatic doesn’t make grills? :-)

Seriously, with your emphasis on the art of BBQ, I expected you to have a Smokemaster Pro 3000 or something similar. I still have my weber for charwood grilling.

Nice grill station…I like the built-in light fixture. Going over to vote now..

Hi Marc, just signed up and voted for you. They did not ask for a mailing address, just and email – quick and easy. I have the site bookmarked and will try to remember to vote once a day, good luck – but I don’t think you need luck – that project is by far the coolest!.
Medium rare please. :)
Later,
Doug in AZ.
