If you make a lot of mortise and tenon joints, a Hollow Chisel Mortiser is a tool you should really consider. It makes quick work of the repetitive task of batching out mortises. And unlike the router, it leaves nice square ends that pair perfectly with tenons made at the tablesaw or cut by hand. This is a fairly comprehensive video and tells you pretty much everything you need to know to purchase, set up, and use a hollow chisel mortiser.

Another fine video. Thanks Marc. If my profits were as large as my passion (which they are not), I’d buy them all.

You are truly blessed with your family and in the knowledge you have on tools and woodworking! I watched your video when you and your wife went to visit with Duane whom had cancer. You worked with him in his shop if I remember correctly… You have a passion for helping people and taking time to explain the art of wood working so others may benefit in knowledge from what you teach.

Thank you for all of your videos… Your trip to meet Duane is just another reason that I like watching your videos.. You have a caring heart and I wish the world had a heart like yours… It would be a much better place!!!

Thanks very much Scott. I really appreciate that! Going to meet and work with Duane was one of the most significant experiences of my life. You don’t get an opportunity to help someone out like that very often. Sadly Duane passes away several months ago. But it was my experience with him and his family that led to us starting our own charity effort called Woodworkers Fighting Cancer:

Its definitely one of the most gratifying parts of doing what I do.
