132 - Advent Calendar Pt. 2

In the second part of this three-part series, I continue with the construction of the main grid-work. I show you a cool trick for cutting small dowel pieces and then the assembly begins. For small parts like this, I actually have a cool method glue-up that involves the use of two different glues. I then cut the triangle shape using a circular saw and a guide, which works surprisingly well. Finally, I add the mitered trim pieces and our Advent Calendar proper is fully constructed!

thanks for the video, Mark! I must say, when i first started getting into woodworking, your videos were (and still are) a huge inspiration. Made it seem like even I could do it. right now, being in school, not having a shop/tools etc, mostly i just do research and LEARN how to do things until the day I can actually get to some buildings! Thanks a lot for all the info and helpful How-To’s. You are…...the…

Yeah you’re videos were the first ones I found as well that got me interested in woodworking. You do excellent videos that are very easy to follow. I think my wife would love this project as well. She’s been wanting a new advent calendar for a while. Thanks!
