“The 2009 Fresh Wood Student Competition highlights outstanding construction and design achievements by students from the best high school and post-secondary woodworking programs in North America.” That’s according to the AWFS website. But the display is so much more. There were so many fantastic pieces on display and I couldn’t film them all. But I got the vast majority and I hope you enjoy the footage. Some of the talent in this competition is simply mind boggling.

Thanks for sharing the latest from the Fresh Wood show. I have been following them since they started and have been wowed year after year.
I think that they bring a unique perspective and vision to woodworking. I always love to pour over the entries.

Thank you so much for sharing that amazing show of young talent!!
The pieces are exceptional but seeing those young people with the world ahead of them is wonderful. I wish every young person could have a life where they were free to be able to explore their talents.
Very cool!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for showing us something I’d probably not be able to see otherwise. Those kids are so young. Talent is alive! BTW who is the artist for the first song on the video. Good music and wood go so well together.

It’s nice to know woodworking is alive and well at the high schools as well as in the collage level. Thanks for posting this Marc.
