As a project for my furniture making course I decided to make a couple of nite stands for our bedroom. I have a good supply of air dried cherry for the carcass and some spalted maple for the drawer fronts. I drew up the plans myself and am ready to dive in. Since I’ve been skiing a lot lately, I needed to get myself in the right frame of mind so I.m doing the fun part first. Part 2: Making the cross members

After a bit of a layoff as far as the shop is concerned, I got busy. Milled my stock First up was to cut the lap joints for the center of the supports. I set up my GP mitre box with a moveable stop and set the depth stop.
