That “big” sale is based on list prices. I didn’t see anything much cheaper than normal. However, I just looked again, and may pick up another 7310 laminate trimmer for $65. I like to keep a small roundover bit in mine, and it would be nice to have a few dedicated ones for other tasks.

Amazon does this crap all the time. They give a stupidly high list price and give the “street price” as if it is a huge sale. The only upside to buying tools from Amazon is the lack of sales taxes, which can be a huge plus..

Yeah, I was shocked to find the list price of an 892 router at $365! and a 7518 was over $600!!

65 buck for a PC trimmer seems pretty good. Another place for brand name tools on the cheap is CPO reconditioned.
Then select your brand of choice – The reconditioned inventory is always changing so if you are looking for a particular tool, check back periodically. Worse to resist is Tyler tool when they have 50% off offers.

they look pretty average to me too. The can make anything look good, it’s the research that makes you look better, And the wife won’t mind when you buy it.

CPO has great deals on recon stuff (got a Skil router with plunge and fixed bases for $88 shipped, was a great starter router and I still use it on occasion, tho I prefer my PC 690), but their regular prices often make me snicker in amusement. Some of their stuff was twice as high as at Lowes or other big box stores.
