Longtime woodworker, but increasingly consumed by the hobby over the past couple of years. I am now racheting up my shop before starting my next project. I will be buying a cabinet saw soon to replace my old small Delta. Then, I look forward to making a crosscut sled and a limited assortment of other jigs that I should have made years ago. My children are soon to be in their own homes and I will reach for some immortality through making things for them!

Welcome. You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Work safe in the shop and don’t forget to use pushsticks.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Wisty

Thanks, guys, for the welcome! I need to get a photo of me and one of my recent project, a sapele mirror frame with 100 tiny hand-carved (using a 2-mm wood chisel) 1/2” letters on all four sides reading: “To Our Daughter Ellen Frances To Commemorate Her Graduation From Davidson College May Sixteenth Two Thousand Ten.” My local woodworking buddies have liked it. Anyway, I can already see that LumberJocks is indeed addictive!

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
tom
