Good qaulity cutter

Good qaulity cutter

I purchased this bit to speed up and simplify my box making. To install the lid and base it calls for a 1/4 inch groove around the top and bottom of all sides. Instead of fiddling with the table saw and instead of taking the time to install a dado head I figured it seemed reasonable to have a router with this bit dedicated. This is my first experience with Eagle America and it wont be my last. The shipping was incredible. I only got the standard shipping and I ordered it on Wednesday of last w...

A great glue which I have tested to the limit.

A great glue which I have tested to the limit.

After watching Scott Phillips on tv I got increasingly interested In this Gorilla glue. I picked up a small bottle and tryed on the first project I could. It was a box with I actualy sold so I never got to post It on here. It was made with curly maple. So a fairly standard wood.I spread A healthy amount on each miter and brushed it out. I made this box with no splines because I wanted to put this glue to the test. And boy did I.First the day after glue up I was outside brushing lacquer onto i...

Great mid range dust collecter.

Great mid range dust collecter.

1521 days ago by thatwoodworkingguy | 7 comments »

I wanted to upgrade my dust collection for a shop vac to the real deal.I always trust delta machinery so I thought this was a good way to go. I headed right over to woodcraft and I saw this shiny beast. I purchased it that day along with the appropriate fittings and hoses. woodcraft has an amazing supply of dust collection accessories I might add!I got home and began to assemble the unit. There is a moderate amount of assembly but the instructions for once are actually helpful. I would sugges...

Ever wish you could spray a finish without the complexitys of compressors hoses and the clumsy time it takes to clean out the gun after?Ever wish you didnt have to go through the effort of the already mentioned set up just to spray something like a jewelry box or small items? Well this lacquer is for you!In a convenient spray can just shake it up and your good to go.You can even turn the tip of the nozzle to change the spray from horizontal to vertical. It sprays nice and even however it does...

Precission triangle in use.

After my first impressions post which many of you confused with my over all judging of the tool I could wait and more. I grabbed some Walnut and started to make a box. I deiced to not do anything elaborate and use no layout tools but my pencil a 2ft ruler and this little guy.First off I used the triangle to set my saw blade. I put it up on the table and cranked my blade into 45 degrees up againest the triangle. I then put on a digital angle reader and it was dead at 45.I then cut all my parts...

A gem from Porter Cable

A gem from Porter Cable

I went through a period of having to do A LOT of glue ups to make table tops and wide panels. Not wanting to dowel it all I decided it was time to splurge on a new toy! I picked up this little baby.Right out of the box things were looking great. It comes with a nice hardshell case. Some things about this case I really like are how spacious it is. I hate it when the hardshell cases hardly hold the tool and you have to mash it to get it close. Thats IF you figure out how to get the tool in with ...

Great blade

Great blade

1533 days ago by thatwoodworkingguy | 13 comments »

It came time in my shop when I realized my old porter cable blade was cutting it (literally at times!) any longer.I was going to buy a frued but I could not resist the urge to try out this CMT.The only complaint I have with this blade is the packaging. The blade is screwed into the case and even when the screw is out you still have to all about break the case to get the blade out. Its NOT easy.Upon putting in the saw I fired it up right away. Call me cliche but this blade SOUNDS great! It wh...
