Typically you have to keep an eye on that generation, their work ethic is lacking. (Just been my experience.)

Hey, good videos. However if I can offer one suggestion if your camera allows for it. Go to best buy and get a wireless mic kit. It cost me $85 and was well worth it. It is the one designed as a 3 or 4 in one kit. If you watch my router video which I used the camera mic compared to my drill and bandsaw videos, you can tell the difference.

Keep the videos coming either way!

The ability to add a microphone is what I am looking at in a video camera purchase for myself.

I will have to give you a call for some tips when I get one.

The one that Blake got has a mic jack on it.

It also uses an SD card so it has flash memory and you just drag and drop the files just like a photo.

It is a Canon FS100 I think.

ya Christmas for me is a stationary sander. i love doing the segmented turnings like in the video but truing the halves by hand with sandpaper is a bit tedious.

Outstanding! Looks like TWW has friends in high places. When you are done with him, send him down my way. I could use a helper like that.

Hi Dennis;

Well it’s pretty hard to beat a helper like that.

You both did a great job in making my day begin with a smile!

It’s real hard to find good help, but I guess when your on a limited budget, you have to take what you can get, huh. LOL

Mr. Neil is a great man, and his stopping by, and participating in your video, speaks volumes of his character.

There’s a man I truly respect.

(and Todd Clippinger ain’t too shabby either!) LOL

He’s another Gentleman I have a great deal of respect for.

Good job.

Lee

the story on the visit…well TWW and i have exchanged emails and a few conversations over the last year or so,and like you i have watched his videos ,and been amazed at his accomplishments, as well as his genuine respect ,and politeness, I was drawn to his “natural” talent, so when it was decided we would take a trip north to meet some fellow woodworkers ,Denis was top of the list, so his family invited Sherri and I to have dinner, which we did, and got to hangout a little while, so we got down in his shop ,and his brother got the camera out ,and we started playing around and what you see is what we did, and these were the serious moments…we had a great time and laughed alot….And I must say ,having met his family, that Denis is the real deal….a young man who has a natural talent , i have rarely seen, and a family basis that back’s it up, The segmented turning he has here is all but flawless..glue joints are perfect, finish is like glass, design is excellent…its only the second thing he has ever turned…the first was his pumpkin..he has posted here, now i dont want him getting a swelled head or nothing, but we have all looked at his videos and thought ..geez..i been doing this stuff for more years than hes been around, and i cant do that…That’s what im telling you, thats Denis, just pure raw talent in a super young man..quiet and humble Denis, is one of several young woodworkers i see out here, and being a firm believer in helping the youth ,and seeing it as the future of Woodworking, it is inspiring to see their talents expand so quickly,
so now ya know…Its up to us to support and help the youth ,they are our future…

Thanks for the laugh TWW I also love the story behind it. I hope that you have rubbed off on some of your friends. The world needs young adults such as yourself to keep our art alive and kickin. Keep it up.
