I was never really in to woodworking until a recent back surgery left me unable to do much but carve. Then it just grew exponentially. I had an uncle and a great uncle who were pros, so I've managed to build a decent set of tools on the cheap. I'm still basically a novice, though. I was never very good thinking logistically, so the math of hardcore woodwork still scares me a bit. It didn't really help that the first magazine I bought had a fold-out Studley in it.
