My workshop is in the basement of our house and power tools include a table saw, bandsaw, drill press, bench grinder (for sharpening lathe tools), a 12” disc sander, and of course, my lathe. The lathe is a Delta 12” lathe and I am somewhat limited therefore to producing anything much larger than an 11 inch bowl. I hope to expand to 16 inch one of these days, but getting a larger lathe down the cellar steps becomes a real issue. At my wife’s insistence, I have both chip collection and an air filter both by Delta.
When we remodeled our kitchen the cabinets came down in the cellar and I added a lot of counter top work area. A few metal (formerly lab cabinets) make up the rest of my storage space and provide additional bench top space. I made my own Swedish style work bench years ago and that completes the floor cabinets. The old kitchen wall cabinets are also in use.

Bill, how about posting some pictures of your shop when you get the chance. For those of us, like myself, who are self-proclaimed shop addicts visual tours of other shops are a real treat.
