I have been woodworking on and off since I was about 13. I have made some big furniture pieces but after I retired and my neighbors all developed bad backs I vowed I would make things I could carry up out of the basement by myself. I retired just about 10 years ago.
I returned to lathe work, but this time mostly face-plate work. After saturating the neighbors, my wifes friends and the grand-childrens teachers I have started to sell some things at craft fairs so I can continue to buy the wood that I use.
Mostly I make segmented bowls and will attempt to post a few if I can overcome my lack of computer savvy.
Taid's (pronounced Tide's) Turning is a play on words that I use as a logo on my work. Taid means grandfather in welsh and since we are raising three of our five grandchildren it seemed appropriate.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! The forums are a great place to get woodworking advice and to give out some wisdom as well. I am always getting new ideas from the project posts and I also find the videos instructive. I hope you find the site as useful as I do.
