treasure chest
I have started making a treasure chest for my sister in laws wedding. Decided to go with walnut and hickory. The box portion is finished. But now the fun is starting for me and making the lid. I have been debating for weeks trying to figure the best way to join the individual plaks to sides and make contour of the top. One option was to miter each individual plank to make the curve. Another is to use a match cove and bead router set which they use to make canoes. Hmmm this still poses another problem the ends of the planks are still flat bottom where it meets the sides that have the contour. And how I make the joint for these to pieces with out hiding it with metal banding or leather stra...
