I am beginning as a studio furnituremaker and designer in Orange County, CA. My interest in making furniture was first sparked while studying fine art at the University of California, Santa Cruz. My intense interest in Chinese and Japanese art, which is not distinguished from craft, provided a basis to explore my interest in woodworking through the lens of an artist and a scholar. Although I was often frustrated at the University by what I felt was the closed-mindedness of the academic art world, the chance to study the the theoretical and historical origins of art in tandem with my development as a craftsman, left me with a broad aesthetic knowledge to draw from. After graduating from college I adjusted my studio to suit the needs of a more artisan style of furniture, and completed several pieces that reflect my ecclectic approach to design. The launching of my website is one of many ways I am seeking to broaden my horizons as an artist and craftsman.

Really nice projects skillfully executed. Pleasure seeing your work. The display cabinet was cool. I liked the drawer pulls. They are all great.
