Great Bridge, Va
United States

This is my 12×20 shed at the house we rent. When we moved to Virgina I went from a two car garage and a 12×20 storage shed to this single shed and a very small 8×10 garden shed. So to say the least I have been trying to come up with better ways to maximize my organization skills and also get rid of stuff that probably will never need. I am lucky to have 4×12 lofts on each end of the shed. I always tried to keep my big tools mobile but now more than ever I have to in order to have max work space. The shed has no power so I am using a 10G cord and run it to a power outlet on the deck, so far I have had to problems with power and have just been selective in running machines at the same time. As I get the shed turned into a workable shop I will add more pictures of it.

I tried to upload a photo this afternoon but no luck I think my SD card is out-of-whack so I will try in the morning.

Ok, for those of you that were up all night eagerly awaiting the posting of pictures here are a couple. I am on leave right now so my main goal as stated before is to get my shed converted to a workable shop. In between working on a couple projects and running around getting other stuff done. I will post better pictures when I get it cleaned up and organized better. Happy woodworking to all.

Stuk, you have a nice shop. I have always thought that a stand alone shop is the way to go (especially when I get yelled at for running my planer before my wife is out of bed in the morning). :) You can run your power tools or apply finishes without bothering other family members. And I always enjoy seeing windows in shops. I would much rather work with natural light where possible. And wood floors are much easier to work on as opposed to concrete.

Keep us posted on your updates. I enjoyed the tour.

Well here it is almost dinner time and I feel as though I have really gotten some stuff done today, as you can see by the new pictures I was able to clean-up and set up the shop today. (Thank goodness for daycare and the wife working) ha ha Anyway I tried to take some better pictures that give a good view and show you what I am working with. After making sense of all the clutter and getting it some what organized I found a workbench(LOL) and that I have a ton of floor space now. I think I added as many nails to hang stuff up as were used to build the shed! I hope everyone enjoys the nickel tour.
