Bandsaw Purchase - 12 replies
I’ve been sizing up bandsaws, reading nearly everything I can find about 14 inch saws. Some limiting factors – I only have 110/20 amp service in my garage and upgrading to 220/30 amp is a nice idea, but not an option in the short run. If and when I have a new garage built, it will be without question part of the build. Price ...

A co-worker has this Delta Homecraft for sale. He’s asking $70 for it. Is this worth the effort to clean up to use?

Powermatic Planer - 2 replies
I was purusing Proxibid this evening/morning/wee hours of the night and found this Powermatic Planer in an auction in El Cajon, CA. I’m not in the market for a planer, but thought maybe a fellow LJ might be - https://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.asp?ahid=2960&aid=58495&lid=14704596&rts=/asp/searchadvanced_i.asp%23search...

Parts for a number Stanley #3 needed - 2 replies
Hey all – I acquired a #3 type 9 that is missing the blade, cap iron and lever cap. And the tote and knob are rough too. I would like to keep it as period correct as possible. Anyone have any of those parts they are willing to part with? The lever cap is a plain keyhole type with no logo, the blade says “STANLEY PAT AP’L ...

Laugh or cry? - 11 replies
So I saw this on CL – http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/fuo/3125973303.html Not sure if I should be angry at the tool abuse or consider buying it for the purpose of dismantling it and “rescuing” the tools from misguided nimrods.

Minor Tool Gloat - 1 reply
I scored a Grizzly G1163 1 HP Light Duty Dust Collector, new in the box with the optional Hepa filtration insert from CL for $75 today. The seller bought it new a couple of years ago and never put it to work after having second thoughts about it. Not a huge score, but it’s nice to run across a too good to pass up deal every now and t...

I don't know if I should be glad or sad - 1 reply
I just saw this on CL a few minutes ago – http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/atq/2969078075.html I am unsure how I feel about it. I am glad to see it’s still around but also sad to know that it’s in the hands of morons who think of it as a statement piece.

Woodstock W1100 Slickplane - 3 replies
Anyone have one of these Slickplanes? I am thinking about buying one to try it out. It looks like a nice alternative to using a round-over bit in a router. Your thoughts and observations?

Rockler Groupon in Minnesota - 1 reply
Hey all, in case you have not seen it, Rockler has a Groupon $15 for $30. It says Burnsville store only, but I was in the Minnetonka store today and overheard the store staff discussing it. It seems they will be honoring it there too. I got mine!
