I know my wife would love a cedar chest… Western Red is the aromatic kind, right?

Dan, I believe the Eastern Cedar is the aromatic type.

I’m actually using cedar to repair my storage shed (aka workshop) because of it’s anti-bug and anti-rot properties. Works very well.

True ssmdad, the westeren cedar has little or no smell, good thing is its light to ship when its dry. A guy could always put eastern cedar balls in the cedar chest to spice it up. Stuffs going cheap so get some before its gone.

Very true stockmaker or even just line the inside with the closet liner cedar (pretty cheap).

My biggest issue would be shipping if you’re even doing that. I’m in 20164 zip code.
I’d love to have some just to keep handy. Wife wants some bookshelves and would work well for my building repair issue.

How much are you asking and what sizes?

3/4×6” x 36” to 95608.
I am building shoe boxes for golf shoes. I love working with red cedar. My planer does not.

I am very interested. I am looking to make a bunch of outdoor furniture. Stockmaker let me know over pm if you would like to deal. I am in the 01821 zip code and I’m not sure how much shipping would be. I’m looking for around 35 or 36 2×4x8’ boards. What is the quality of the wood? Depending on the price I might be interested in more.

stockmaker, what kind of board footage are we talking about. I do work for a couple different contractors that buy large amounts of wood. One of them buys in such large quantities that he affects wood prices nationally. Send me a pm with the board foot $ and I’ll contact ether or both of these guys and see if the are interested.

I use WRC a lot for carved outdoor signs. It is a great wood for outdoor use.

Stockmake – where are you located? I’m about 40 miles north of Spokane, WA which is on the east side of WA state near the Idaho border.

So the posts stopped coming in, I must be charging to much, Im going to have some nice clean, and some with very few knots, Will not ship anything that is bowed or cracked. Im thinking for the small stuff under 36in long and any thickness is 75cent a bf a better price, Plus shipping. A box 12in x12in x5 1/2 is 14.95 to ship in the US, a box 24inx14inx4in is 25.00 to ship.

Stockmaker, I am only about 50 miles away, 30 miles west of Olympia, I have to make 24 flower boxes for a friends daughters wedding this summer, In the next couple of weeks, would like to come up and see what you have. The small sawmill that I have been buying my cedar was repoed a while back and I have not found a new supply out side of the big box stores. PM me with a phone # and address.
