« Part 2: Photos, Plans and Materials Part 3 of Setting Up Shop series Part 4: Going Underground »

I should probably tell you all that Im very good at reinventing the wheel. In fact I actually have a few patents filed. So as I was cleaning out the garage trying to figure out where all this stuff was going to go, I started to figure out wiring and what not. Pricing things out and realizing what I wanted to do was going to cost a lot more then I thought. Not only that the fact that it’s really starting to get hot out and with no insulation in the attic, it really going to get warm. So then theres the a/c to make it workable in there blah blah.

As I was sitting here tonight at work I was comparing the two spaces in my head, while looking at my newly aquifer McFeelys catalog. Long story short I’m going to keep the shop in the basement. Free a/c and heat a lot cheaper wiring and with no drywall and insulation costs pretty much make it a no-brainer.

I’ll hopefully take some pics of the basement area and continue my story as I will need to do some contruction.

Go for the separate shop/ lots less dust problems in the house.
