Always like to watch out for new innovating solutions on woodworking tools etc. and I find this to be an interesting one so I am sharing it with you especially since this is an open source idea.
It’s all about a vertical CNC cutting machine which is affordable and space saving called Maslow.
Hope at least you find it interesting as I did… watch the video on the below link and also I included a link for more info on the machine.

Have fun !!!

Since is an open source idea and not patented I’m expecting to see lot’s of improvements and design ideas based on this one in the near future Tony :)

Just thinking… With a sheet that size you could program it to make an entire project all at once! Set it up and just watch it do the work. But does the operator get the woodworking skill credit or does he get credit for the programming skills? LOL! Maybe both I guess!

Well it’s still a woodworking tool to me, either hand guiding it or machine pushing it. Very well said buddy its both… woodworking now days it’s not only about curving and chopping the wood, it’s also designing and using various tools to make things easier and faster. My distinction between the two is that using automated or even semi automated machinery does not make you a woodworker but it is woodworking… !!!

That’s a new way to approach woodworking but for me anything other then drawing up a plan on the computer is beyond my skills and it would take a lot of my time to learn which I would rather spend building . For the next generations this will likely be the way things are done and I just hope the old way of working with wood won’t be lost .

I don’t think the craft it’s going to fade away Kiefer… its just what you said, new generation with new approach but the skills will still have to be learned !!!

Is this legit or is a scam? Can you actually buy the kit for $350?
