I'm a retired design build HVAC Controls Tech. I got my interest in woodworking at an early age and it blossomed in Jr High School when I was fortunate enough to start in a brand new school fully equipped with a complete woodworking/metal shop. For two years I was able to learn a great deal and work with a good variety of woods and work them from rough to fully finished product. About 25 years ago I stared my own home workshop but became very limited in being able to use it as often as I wanted due to being bone on bone with both knees Now retired, knees replaced, I'm back to getting my shop up and running.

My other hobby, astronomical imaging, is something that keeps be busy processing images.

Now to build and refine woodworking skills.

I’m new to this forum and looking forward to learning from this group. I’ve been busy building my shop in my unfinished basement. I have roughly a 22’ x 30’ area to work with and have just recently bought a new Sawstop 3HP PCS with a 36” fence system. Getting this setup properly is paramount at this point. Although I have a spare safety brake I really don’t want to use it. I’m also setting up a new dado blade and insert but getting the required spacing is proving difficult. No problem with the regular 10” and brake but getting the space with the dado is just shy.

Looking forward to learning and hopefully contributing to this group.
