Concerning Jet bandsaw motor ( one and a half horse): Why anyone would put a motor with no reset or overload protection in any woodworking machine is beyond me. Unfortunately, I was too stupid to think that just a couple seconds of binding would blow the windings. Have less than two or three hours on my 16 incher and it is pure toast—-out of warranty of course. I feel confident I can make ANY replacement work, no matter frame or shaft incompatability. “Buyer Beware” should not have to be applied to such a highly touted brand, but——————.
An American-made 2 horse ( or 3 ) should be the minimum in any 16 inch bandsaw——-PERIOD.
