Sweet new 8 inch spiral parallelogram jointer. Now I can get rid of my 6 inch benchtop jointer.

That’s a huge step up. That’s likely the model I’ll get when I get the chance to upgrade from my 6” jointer. Let us know how you like it.

How do you like your jointer? What made you choose the 490 over the 586 – the parallelogram bed and bigger fence?

How about a review???

Thanks for any light you can shed on the topic.

So far, so good. It took about 1 1/2 months to get it because they were backordered, but the price was right. The fence was not flat, so I complained and they sent me another one right away. I wanted the parallelogram model, I don’t want to have to learn how to shim dovetailed ways. I also wanted a long bed. I just got a precision straightedge, so now I need to check it closer.

Have your say...
