I drove down my road yesterday on the way home from work and noticed a sign in front of one of my neighbors houses…Woodworking Tools For Sale! We new each other to speek once in a while in the last 34 years but only to say hello. I went down there this morning to see what was up and found out Andy had died last January. We both have been woodworkers all these years but didn’t know it! The Son-in-law showed me around and I picked up a few things! All for $20…sweet!

Spanky, you bought some really nice tools to add to your ever growing collection.

Nice score.

Great set of tools. Nice catch. Too bad you didn’t make a friendship earlier.

You’ll be closer to him using his tools than as a neighbor. Lucky snag.

Those two Bessey clamps (Mighty Minis?) are about $7 each., so you got the rest of it for $4! I could definitely use those face clamps! Great score, spanky!

You would not have got the bargain if you had not gone and had a look,..lots of lost opportunity for lack of action.
I almost missed out on some shelving racks.. thought I will go back the next day.. If I had It would have been gone,.., as it was went home and saw the neighbor about using his large truck and we went that afternoon.

Agreed, degoose! I’m very big on inaction, always saying things like “Eh, it’s probably not worth the effort.” It’s something I’ve been trying hard to change about myself, because I could see nothing interesting was coming out of being that way. So, I trolled craigslist and LAReUseIt, and I’ve made some long drives, and met with tree trimmers, and I have a huge pile of cool wood to play with now, all completely free! I’m just finally starting to feel it inside, too – the feeling that “this will be worth the effort.” Up until recently, I’ve had to turn off my brain, and just say “go do it, and complain later if it wasn’t worth it.” So far, everything’s been worth it :)
