bandsaw #3: blah

« Part 2: working on wheels Part 3 of bandsaw series no next part

Been a long time since I updated this.
I still haven’t given up on the bandsaw. The main things left are the trunnions, the table, and finishing the case.
I used the bandsaw with a temporary table to resaw the walnut for the drawer fronts on the stand. I was having some slippage of the belt on the wooden pulley on the bottom wheel when making those cuts. I’ve remade that pulley with a better groove, so hopefully that’s better now.
My estimated completion date has been pushed out to 2018 now.

Have you watched Matthias Wandel newest band saw build.

I’ve watched the first couple videos. He makes it look so easy. My issue is, of course, little free time. But then without a dedicated shop, I spend as much time shuffling stuff around, moving cars, cleaning up, etc.. as I do actually making cuts.

I figured that was the problem, you just do what you can, you’ve come so far with it.
Not that many can say they made a band saw.
Back 30 or so years ago I would have loved if we would have had the how to to do things like that.
