widebelt sander
My helpers in the picture are smiling as they install the new sander – they now have less work ! This is an “entry level” unit marketed by Mini Max, but still came with motorized digital controls and some other features that are very welcome. For grinding slabs flat , leveling glue lines , finishing flooring and wall paneling this thing is a huge labor saver. I think I will be smiling shortly also-
sliding table shaper
This piece of equipment really caught my eye at AWFS . A massive cast iron sliding table supporting a massive cast steel tenoning table all sitting on a slide system that looks “prehistoric”. I was hooked ! Other things I like are the all digital readouts for adjustments ,the excellent fit and finish overall ,and when it is turning a 12 pound cutterhead at 6000 RPM it is absolutely vibration free . bandsaw guides
On Friday we sent the back of the resaw blade clean through the upper and lower thrust bearings resulting in crash burn fire etc . I did some research on blade guides and Monday morning ordered a pair of model #20 guides from WWW.paddocktool.com , mounted them on Tuesday , and finished the job run an hour ago . We are resawing 15 inch boards that are fairly demanding and I am VERY pleased with the guides . Hope this helps someone looking for good guides .
