Location: Nova Scotia, Canada
At present, I make small boxes with figurative wood and small pieces of furniture. However, in the past year, I have built a cedar strip cosine wherry, row boat. "Acadian Roots - Wood Studio" is my workshop, (four feet from my house), surrounded by old growth hemlocks, on a large lake, and makes reference to my location in Nova Scotia (the Acadian Coast) and to my heritage. My formal education was in visual design, mostly digital. Now, I'm happy using a key board, only as a means to share my 3D wood creations.
I have spent much of my life in forested environments, (I also teach "wilderness/remote skills") and working with wood is simply another means by which to explore those places.
Much thanks to Lumbejocks for the technical support and encouragement.
