My shop is a 12×20 foot stand alone shed with plenty of power and very little room. A lot of the equipment is on locking casters, so that I can manuever around: Delta tablesaw, Bosch mitersaw, Jet 12” bandsaw, Ridgid 13” planer, Routerhawk table. I firmly believe in”never enough clamps”. I also use a spindle sande, bench sander, bench jointer, drill press and mortiser. I always use my Jet air filter, and last year I moved my Delta dust collecter outside into a dedicated addition. My dream is to triple the floorspace and add storage space. No plans to add a lathe. I also have replaced most of the light fixtures with halogen lights. My location is very convenient with both Rockler and Woodcraft about 30 miles away. I hope to submit photos of projects soon.

Sounds like you have a workable shop. My shop is pretty small too. When you get time maybe you can put some pictures up. Welcome to Lumberjocks.

Skippyland, if you will look at the top right hand corner, there is a tab labeled My Lumberjocks. If you left click on this it will bring up several tabs, one of them being My Workshop. If you go to that tab you can edit it and enter both a narrative about your shop and upload pictures directly from your computer.

Skippyland, this is a nice looking shop that you have in which to work. I have always thought that having a stand alone shop is the way to go. Your shop appears to be pretty well organized and you have a nice collection of tools to play with.

By the way that is a neat sign post that you have outside your shop.

Thanks for the tour. I enjoyed visiting your shop.

Thanks, Scott, I appreciate your comments. Well, the best thing I can say about my shop is at least I don’t have far to go to find something there. Ha! The sign post was an idea I got from a friend…My wife and I made a list of our favorite ( or very special) places and then we googled the mileage…a nice conversation piece for visitors to our woods.

I like your chop saw, I like Bosch tools. That is one company that has really come a long way in making good quality tools. Good to hear from someone in my neck of the woods. It would be a hike for you but I buy most of my hardwoods at pittsford lumber, well worth the drive if you’re so inclined. Check out pittsfordlumber.com

Actually, I have gone there…but, I have fallen in with a guy over in Victor (G W Woods), who I think has treated me very fairly. Jerry is fair also. I also hear but haven’t tried Attica Lumber for cherry & walnut.

12×20 isn’t all that bad of a space if you use it right, and you have a great set of tools in there! I really like the sign post as well… Great addition. (I’m a big M.A.S.H. fan so that’s a good one by me!)

Thanks for checking me out. It’s compact, but if I had a lot more room I’d just get more in debt buying more toys…a finishing room would be nice though.
