Location: Grovetown, Georgia (near Augusta)

Well, I love the look of wood furniture, am extremely satisfied with seeing something I like in the store|magazine|etc. and going home and building it myself. I don't have many tools, and the ones I do have are low-budget versions. I am a beginning woodworker, having only a couple of completed projects under my belt - so far. I plan to use the internet, self-teach books and experience to become proficient with the tools I currently own and those I acquire in the future. I do not aspire to a career in cabinet- or furniture-making, I just like to build stuff.

I do, however, plan to convert our two-car garage into a workable man-shop, not just for woodworking, but as a launchpad for all of my home DIY stuff.

I have been retired from the U.S. Navy since Fall 2010, and now work for the US Army Corps of Engineers. I am the proud father of five great kids - four lovely girls and a little firecracker ;-).
