no previous part Part 1 of A Few Holiday Photos series Part 2: Lots of good figured olive veneer here ! »

We were at the Friday public market in Ventimiglia, Italy today and happened into this little gelateria / bar. As we sat down to enjoy our gelato my wife noticed that the bar was paneled with very nice marquetry.

(My excuse is that I was sitting with my back to the bar.)

By the way, I’ll be cooking dinner tonight. (fresh pasta, fresh porcini, a big hunk of parmigiano and a truffle)
What a great market.

Ciao, a presto

Paul

Looks like fun ! hope you enjoyed. I’ve always wanted to add (tongue in cheek) if god wanted us to make mdf furniture , we would have given us MDF trees ( : -)

If I get any more woodworking related excuses, I will add a few more photos. Unfortunately, this year’s trip won’t get me back to Sorrento where I originally caught the marquetry bug. Maybe next time.
