Shinju that is going to be a nice saw when you get it refurbished. I enjoy seeing old tools given new life like you are planning to do with this one. You might want to take a look at this project posted by Blake. He did a similar restoration on a 1959 model.

But thanks for the picture of your shop. I appreciate the opportunity to visit with you.

shinju,
how has the restoration gone? I’ve been thinking about purchasing a used 1030 recently. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to load it into my minivan by myself though which could be an issue. I have no idea what one of these items would weigh. have you enjoyed using yours so far? Any advice to a potential purchaser like myself?

first if the saw is still together check to see if there is play in the bearings when you pull the saw out, have you turn the saw on as the motors can be very exspensive to fix or replace, the saw does come apart if you have the table also. i use it alot some people don’t like them. but once you get use to it. it;s a good saw to have. i hope this helps you let me know what you do,shinju
