Maple bowl with lots going on

This one has a bit of everything, spalting, quilting, coffee filled cracks. It’s just under 10” O.D. Finished with wipe on poly.

Silver Maple Box and HF

The box has a walnut lid is 3 1/2” x 3 1/2”, the HF has a cherry collar and is about 3 1/2” x 3”.

I answered an ad on Craigslist and got some free cherrry wood. This HF is the first piece out of this score along with one roughed out bowl drying in a paper bag as I write.

This is a wedding present for my niece. It’s 6” tall and turned out of silver maple.

Burnt edge NE bowl

The bark had already fallen off of this piece, so I used a new technique. I used a torch to lightly char the rim.
The wood is silver maple, 5.5”x7”x2.5”T and finished with wipe on poly.

Oval fruit bowl?

Oh the joys of still wet wood. The piece is 3”x8”, silver maple. Knots, spalting and bug holes, it’s got it all. I wanted it round but the wood knows best.

Natural Edge Bowl

I wasn’t sure if I could do much with this scrap but I think it turned out ok. It’s 5”x6”x2 1/2”, walnut, finished with minwax spray lacquer.
