For some reason, as weird as it sounds, I have always had an almost unnatural love for tools! I love tools of any kind... Old/new, hand/electric, stationary/mobile, I love them all. I can still vividly remember purchasing my first power tool (a B&D circular saw from Wal-Mart of all places), and the rush I felt the first time I used it.
As the collection grew over time, it became evident I needed a space to not only keep them, but a space that would actually allow me to use them. In 2012 I was finally able to build my dream shop, that in turned burned down on New Years Day 2016. Now, while that definitely was a devastating day at my house, given my love of tools, I have since been able to have some of the funnest days of my life (courtesy of the insurance company) replacing all of my tools. You should have seen the looks I was getting the day I had two complete shopping carts full of replacement stuff at a big box store.
Now, while the purchase of all those new tools has been an amazing experience, it has had an interesting side affect. At first I thought the rush of opening and using all of those new tools was going to get old, but it did the exact opposite, it has transformed into an obsession to use them. Now, that is literally all I do, outside of work. Since the fire, most of my time has been spent on rebuilding the shop, but I just can't seem to get enough shop time, no matter how hard I try!
