Location: Ottumwa Ia
Website: www.sgraywoodcarving.com

After I graduated from high school I became a firefighter/EMT in Burlington, Iowa. A period of time passed and I decided to join the US army. During basic I was individually picked out for the Honor Guard. In the Honor Guard it was my privilege to ride Caisson horses for the Arlington Cemetery. I laid brave soldiers to rest for four and a half years.

I then went into jump school and Ranger School to learn how to be an Airborne Ranger. I was in the 1st Ranger battalion before I went into Special Forces Engineer School in 1987. I spent 5 years on ODA 562 A Team Green Beret, and two years teaching the Engineer phase at John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center. My military career ended after twelve and a half years, due to a parachute malfunction.

After I recovered I went back into firefighting/EMT in Ottumwa, Iowa. I also instructed high-angle rescue to the surrounding areas. After six years of Ottumwa firefighting, I had a heart problem that ended me with two stents. I am now retired and start over again with a new career, custom wood carving. I hope you like it.

Now I live in paradise on 40 acres on a family farm with my wife and 12 horses. My wife and daughter are always handy to add a “Oh that doesn’t look right” just when I need it. Please give me a call if you had something in mind.
