My friend’s Terry and Sharon Naig ask me too build them a mission coffee table out of black walnut from the tree in there yard and I will get what I don’t use . the wood has been in there barn for seven year and ruff cut so I will be hand planing it all. I will be good with a plane when I am done with this project.I have been working with sketchup to get my plane’s . I think I will put a display in the center of the table . I am one that will take all the in put I can get so if you are reading this and have so input I will take it . I stard to work on my plans I don’t if there should be drawer or shelf’s should it be open or box in I need to do moor recherché to know moor abut it .

That’s a very cool concept. Are you using plans, or are you going to design it yourself. Either way, we want pics! The wood should make whatever you make very dramatic. I’ve often thought about making every other piece of out walnut so that it contrasts with the ubiquitious quartersawn white oak.
