I have been woodworking for 20 years. Over the years the passion kept growing, so did the number and size of the tools I acquired and the amount of space I needed to store and use them. While taking classes at the Rosewood Studio I developed other skills and the confidence to leave my job in the software industry to become a full time furniture maker in 2008. I work in a 16' x 24' shop that I built besides my house. My formal training and work experience as an engineer play a big part in how I approach my work. I like to do a lot of research when designing news pieces and I work from plans I make using CAD tools. I enjoy working with hand tools but I am not a zealot. I use the tool that produces the best result, whether it is a hand tool or a power tool. I like many styles of furniture and have no desire to market myself as a expert dedicated to building in one style only.
